Early Life and Family History

Kim Seok-jin, known by his stage name Jin, was born on December 4, 1992, in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. He comes from a wealthy family and is part of the Gwangsan Kim clan. His father is reportedly the CEO of a company and the owner of at least one restaurant.

Jin has an older brother who also studied in Australia. Jin himself spent time in Australia in 2007 to learn English but ultimately pursued a career in music.

Jin joined BTS about seven years ago. Before that, he was born in Anyang, Gyeonggi-do, but when he was 1 year old, his family moved to Gwacheon, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea.
